Timehop. Me-made-may 9th-31st

Hello friends! It feels like I have been away for years, but in reality I've been away for only a month. And I'm sorry about that. Sometimes life has things in store for us that take us by storm and leave little to no time for some things. And this is exactly what happened. I have had a busy-busy month at work and as we got a puppy last month, let's just say, I have had my hands full. Not that I'm complaining. A busy studio is a good thing(esp for our wedding budget) and a puppy is too good to resist. I mean look at that face. How can you not spend every free minute petting and cuddling with that cute face. But now the dust has started to settle and I finally have got a few moments for myself and to breathe.


While I have quite a few posts lined up for you all, I do have a little debt. Me-Made-May. I participated, blogged about the first week and then went awol from the blogosphere. And now I'm going to make things right and show you what I wore and it also is a little teaser of some of the selfish sewing(and knitting) blog posts that are lined up.

As you can see I do have quite  few pieces I need to photograph and blog about, also I wanted to wear even more me-made things during May however the weather was too cold for many pieces(shorts) and I have misplaces some of my things(for example this dress. Yo, where you at?)

Me-Made-May Roundup (1st to 8th)

Hey! It's finally May! And that means for me that summer is right around the corner, I can hide the winter clothes away and start slowly pulling out the summer clothes. Also it means that Me-Made-May takes over the online sewing world and people use their me-made wardrobe to its full potential. Obviously I was going to take part of it and here's my pledge for this month.

I, Fooniks from http://needleforthoughts.blogspot.com/ , sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '15. I endeavour to wear at least one me-made garment each day for the duration of May '15.

My pledge is the same as it was last year but I think that this way I'll have enough fun and still push myself to wearing the things I've made more often. Also it allows me to see which gaps in my wardrobe I should fill next. And here's what I wore from the 1st of May to the 8th of May

 1st of May: Wearing Fun Summer Tee, rtw jeans and a rtw cardigan

2nd of May: Wearing Bruyére the First and tights 

3rd of May: Wearing Monochrome Mickey shirt, rtw jeans and rtw cardigan 

4th of May: Wearing Sweet Lace Moneta and Marion Cardigan

5th of May: Wearing an unblogged tank top, Marion Cardigan and rtw jeans 

 6th of May: Wearing Zebra Bruyére and rtw jeans

So that's what I wore. I was trying to keep up with combining outfits that weren't pajamas and t-shirts even though I was dead tired and that was all I wanted to wear. Cause we got a puppy and that's pretty much as tiring as having a baby in the house. She's settling in now and we can have a bit more peace and sleep.

Me-Made-May 2014 No More!

Without blabbing too much, I'm going to do a roundup of the last week of May(26th-31st) and then share my thoughts on my month of Me-Mades.

So this is what I wore:
26th of May: A full me-made outfit! Wooooot! Revamped black dress(unblogged) and Burdastyle Short Sleeve Bolero
27th of May: Green Rope Cardigan(to be blogged as soon as I sew on the buttons, lol), Black jeans(Reserved), Green top(Terranova), lace top(thrifted)
28th of May: Green Rope Cardigan again, Jeans(Reserved), Batgirl T-shirt(Sportsdirect)
29th of May: Monochrome Mickey shirt , jeans(Terranova), Cardigan(Sportsdirect)
30th of May: Dotted shirt(unblogged), Jeans(Terranova), Cardigan(Sportsdirect)
31st of May: Finishing with a bang. Also it was granny's birthday so had to dress up. I wore the Burdastyle Lace Waist Dress and paired with with my killer red heels.

My conclusions of this(last) month.
*I need to make more things to myself. More dresses and separates and everything.
*I need to bring in more colors. Most of the colorful things in my wardrobe are RTW and I need to take this into consideration.
*I am too critical at myself and my body image.
*I need to find more versatile and quick hairstyles for work days when I need to get my hair out of the way
*A lot of the me-mades I've made didn't end up on my body in May because they don't fit anymore. I need either to fix them or donate them.

Overall. I'm proud that I made it through the month without ending up in the nuthouse. I usually don't take/have someone take this much pictures of myself in a year than I did in May. Now that the month is over and there's no more pledge, I feel kind of relieved. I can wear my clothes just like I want to without calculating what I've already worn or whether I've made or revamped something in my outfit. Then again on the days when I'm wearing something me-made, I feel like I have to document it. I guess I'm having withdrawal, haha. MMMay14 hangover for the win.

So now..I have SOO many ideas I want to sew and so little time. Mr.Man and I will be going to Greece in the beginning of July and I want to take as many summery me-made clothes with me as humanly possible.  And next year I hope to wear only me-mades for May. Wouldn't that be cool(and stressful)

The month is almost over and a part of me will be SO relieved when MMM14 is over. No more well calculated and limited options on what to wear. I have a pretty good idea what my thoughts on my month will be. But more about that in the roundup post of the last week.
