I used the Marion pattern by Andi Satterlund. I loved the look straight away, I'm a big sucker for knit lace and cables. So it was a no brainer for me to make me a Marion. I used yarns from my stash(as I wasn't supposed to buy new yarns til I use up most of my current stash). They were purchased ages ago and the labels had gone missing, so I can't say for sure what they are, but the black yarn is a merino wool blend. The size I went for is size M. Based on the four cardigans and sweaters I have made with Andi's patterns(I might have finished two in the last two weeks), I'm seeing that the sizing is pretty consistent and I'm always size M.
For some reason these cables killed my wrists. I was in a lot of pain while knitting through the cables and I don't know why. Maybe because the yarn was quite heavy and the weight and weird movement put too much stress on my wrists. But no pain-no gain, right?
While knitting the bodice I kept thinking "Man, I wish this pattern had long sleeves" as I felt like long sleeves are a must. So I knit the final sleeve repeat before the ribbing 7 times instead of five. However now when I'm wearing it, I wish I hadn't done that and feel like 3/4 sleeves would have been better. Especially at work where the knit sleeves get tangled with pins. But they are warm. And I like warm. I guess I can never win, eh?
I always opt for warm!! I really like the shorter cardigan style and your cables are lovely too.
